About

Step out of Cabot Circus, cross the main road (Temple Way) and through the old Victorian park, and you will land in the heart of one of the most historic areas of the city. This was the first part of the city to be built around the castle and today is a thriving bohemian shopping quarter in Bristol.

Old Market Quarter is home to a great selection of shops from vintage fashion and antique shops, independent furniture stores to specialist climbing and motorcycle stores. As you peruse the shops on street level, be sure to look up at the array of architectural designs of the buildings.

This area is known for its LGBT-friendly shops, pubs, bars and clubs and detailed listings can be found on the Old Market Quarter website.

If you're looking for a traditional pub to stop for a drink or bite to eat then hunt out The Phoenix, which has a great far east inspired menu as well as pub classics.
