The Lido Restaurant people eating by the side of the pool

About

The Lido is a uniquely Bristolian experience: a 21st century take on a Victorian institution. This architecturally ambitious building, reflecting Egyptian design influences, served as a community leisure facility for more than 100 years before falling into disrepair and being closed in 1990. The restaurant sits in the old viewing gallery, with a wonderful vista of the pool, which is dramatically lit at night.

From breakfast to the restaurant menu, Lido food is strongly influenced by the seasons and the freshest produce available. The chefs focus on sourcing the best ingredients through their close relations with local suppliers, farmers and fishermen from the West and South Coast. Using simple cooking methods including the chargrill and clay oven, the dishes are full of colour, flavour and freshness. Menus are created with balance and variety, a treat for all and suitable for everyday dining, celebrations or just taking time out. Booking is recommended.

The unique poolside bar serves some of the best cakes and pastries in Bristol. All cakes are baked in house, alongside loose-leaf teas and freshly roasted coffee. If you’re after a quick bite, their Mediterranean inspired small plates menu is served throughout the day. Walk ins welcome.

The friendly front of house team is highly knowledgeable on all dishes and are happy to help you pair each dish with a wine or cocktail from their extensive drinks menu.

Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free menu options are available, including gluten-free bread.

Supper Clubs

The Lido’s Supper Clubs are exclusive events held seasonally three times a year, offering a unique dining experience to their guests. Expect to indulge in delicious food served family-style, creating a sense of togetherness and feel of the Mediterranean culture as you will be seated at large tables with 10-20 guests per table.

Influenced by the seasons, their head chef will often collaborate with a guest chef creating a delicious 5-6 course set menu.

Whether it is a magician performing table magic, a choir singing carols at Christmas, or Synchronized Swimmers performing in the swimming pool, entertainment is sometimes provided to make the dining experience extra memorable.
