About
The Lord Mayor’s Chapel is a stunning medieval chapel, formerly part of the Abbey of St Augustine. The Chapel is located in the heart of Bristol, just across from College Green and Bristol Cathedral.
For hundreds of years, it has been a place of sanctuary amongst the busyness of the City. In 1722 The Lord Mayor’s Chapel became the official place of worship of The Lord Mayor of Bristol and has remained so ever since. Today, an active community participate in worship here every Sunday.
Since 2023 Bristol Cathedral has cared for the Chapel allowing it to be more accessible as Bristol’s hidden gem and new event space.
The Chapel can be enjoyed for the unique events and special occasions, where guests can immerse themselves in the ornate and beautiful surroundings of this historical building. Whether dining experiences or for intimate drinks receptions, the Chapel can also be used as a flexible conference or meeting space alongside the wider spaces on offer at Bristol Cathedral close by.
Additional enhancements can be provided such as engaging and bespoke historical tours of The Lord Mayor’s Chapel and Bristol Cathedral, to make your event in Bristol truly memorable.
Bristol Cathedral has a talented Choir and a bank of musicians which can be sourced for musical entertainment to suit any occasion.
