Welcome to The Wave, a slice of the ocean near Bristol. Where people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities can experience the joy of waves and their many physical and mental health benefits. It’s about getting back to nature, improving health and well-being, connecting with other people, enjoying wonderful food and drink, immersing yourself in an incredible day out and having a load of fun in the process!
Whether you’re regular surfer, looking to learn, want to try bodyboarding or just enjoy spending time next to the waves, there’s plenty for you to enjoy a great day out.
Every aspect of the experience - perfect waves, supportive lessons and tried and tested wetsuits and boards - have been designed to ensure the waves are fun for all. Find out more about the Wave's accessible and adaptive programme.
Enjoy wonderful food and drink, food pop-ups in the summer months, plenty of space to explore and enjoy outdoors, a playpark and a shop selling clothing, surf accessories, gifts and more.

Watch for free
Whether you're surfing and bringing friends or just want to pop up for a coffee and cake, there's no entry fee and no car park charges, so come on up and use the playpark, play table tennis, a game of boules, or just enjoy being by the waves.
Play in The Bay
There are no surfboards allowed in the Bay area during Play in the Bay, making this a great way to do some enjoy some family time or build water confidence before doing a beginner surfing session. Children are welcome to bring a bodyboard for this session.
Swim in the lake
There are lots of ways to enjoy being in water and some of those are best without waves!
Enjoy the lake for an hour open water swimming session, in a still lake without waves.
Swimming sessions will be up and down the channel of the lake (nearest to the pier)
Winter Saunas
As the nights draw in and it gets a little chillier, it’s the perfect time for us to bring out the saunas. Dive into the thrill of winter surfing and melt away the chill in the cozy saunas. It's not just about the waves, it's about the warmth that follows. Saunas are free to use if you have purchased a lesson / session in the lake. It is not possible to pre-book a session and they are available on a first come, first served basis.
Women only surf sessions
Sister Sessions take place throughout the year and are just one of a few initiatives to attract a wider range of people to experience the joy of surfing. View upcoming sessions here
Little Rippers Surf Lessons
Little Rippers is a chance for kids as young as 4 to take to the waves with their parents and build water confidence.
The sessions last 1.5hrs and include dryland coaching, followed by an hour in the water. There are two coaches to 10 children, ensuring a safe and brilliantly fun atmosphere, as well as plenty of support catching those first waves!
A Little Rippers lesson costs from £60 for a combo parent and child ticket – all equipment and wetsuits are included.

The Camp at The Wave
Looking to make a weekend out of it? Why not stay at The Camp at The Wave. Set In a private field close to the waves with Safari Tents set up to suit all group sizes from families, friends, couples to even shared accommodation for those looking to stay for longer on a budget. The tents pay homage to the surfing spirit of adventure and are kitted out with comfortable beds, a kitchenette, private toilet, wood burner and large balconies.

The Wave is now powered by solar panels as part of their passion for technology, nature and human health.

The Wave have worked hard to ensure that the whole site is accessible and disability-friendly. They have level access and paved paths throughout the site, including right around the lake and on the pier. There is also have a lift up to the roof terrace.
Accessible parking - There are some accessible parking spaces available in the main car park, as well as limited spaces by the clubhouse. These spaces cannot be reserved, and you will need to display a Blue Badge. There are also a limited number spaces on the grass before the main entrance to The Wave for guests with limited mobility and parents with babies. You do not need to display a badge for these. Please note that there is a 15 minute flat walk from the car park to The Clubhouse.
Service dogs are allowed on site but must remain on a lead at all times.
