Standing at the heart of Bristol’s vibrant city centre, Bristol Cathedral is one of England’s great medieval churches. For almost 900 years the building has been a place of sanctuary, prayer and music.
The Cathedral’s stunning architecture provides the perfect backdrop for any unique event in Bristol, from the most intimate drinks reception to the largest of banquets. The Cathedral’s Nave which can suit some 500 dinner guests, is known as a ‘hall church’ and boasts elegant arches and beautiful artistry. The hall church style of Bristol Cathedral is unique in Britain and is one of the finest examples of this style of architecture in the world.
Bristol Cathedral’s Chapter House is another stunning space for parties and drinks receptions or intimate dinners for 50 guests. It is the oldest surviving part of the site and dates from around 1160 and is a superb example of Romanesque architecture, identifiable by its rounded arches and elaborate decoration. The rows of niches or alcoves contain seats where the Abbey community gathered each day to read a chapter of the rule of St Augustine that governed their lives and to conduct the business of the day. A beautiful and historic space, the Chapter House has a secret door, linking to the peaceful Cathedral garden for pre or post event entertaining in the summer.

There is a hearing loop in some parts of the Cathedral. - The main area of the Cathedral has level access, but most of the break out spaces do not. - When the Cathedral is set out for a conference in lecture style, they have some chairs with arms both sides and some (most) with no arms.
