Meet Bristol & Bath had the pleasure of welcoming the Meet England team to Bristol and Bath at the end of March providing us with the opportunity to showcase some of the diverse business event options available in the region and the exciting new developments coming to the west of England.
We first explored De Vere Tortworth Court, situated on the edge of the beautiful Cotswolds and able to accommodate up to 350 delegates, as well as historical spaces including The Orangery, an 18th-century glass-domed room offering private dining and The Tipi at Tortworth.
We then had an exciting tour of the new YTL Arena Bristol which will be the first large-scale arena in the Southwest of England. Aiming to become the most sustainable arena in Europe, it will cater for 19,500 people with interlinking facilities for large-scale conferences and exhibitions. We also had a presentation on the new Ashton Gate Stadium development which will include a major new 5000 seater state-of-the-art Sport & Convention Centre (SCC) providing an iconic home for the Bristol Flyers basketball team and supporting multiple sports, entertainment, business events and community uses.
Wake The Tiger the UK's largest immersive art experience! Perfect for group visits or exclusive hire up to 600 guests for a unique, out-of-this world experience. The Meet England team spent some time exploring and interacting with the intriguing spaces before heading out for the evening.

Housed in a former 1950s transit shed, telling the story of Bristol’s history, MShed was the location of a sunset tour. The purpose-built event facilities boast fabulous views of the Harbour from the balconies. MShed is a registered charity and events for up to 350 held there support the work they do to care for the treasures in their collection whilst running an exciting learning and engagement programme.
Some of the group experienced Bath of the final day of the visit. First stop was The Gainsborough Bath Spa, Originally built in the 1800s, it occupies two Grade II Listed buildings with distinguished Georgian and Victorian façades. The hotel’s award-winning Spa Village and its beautiful Bath House are fed by naturally warm, mineral-rich waters.
The group then continued their morning joined by Jules, from In & Beyond Bath, for a bespoke city walking tour. In & Beyond Bath take pride in creating unique and relaxed journeys of discovery across the West of England. Jules led the group around all the key historic sites in Bath city centre, including the breath-taking Bath Abbey whilst pointing out all the filming locations used in the famous Netflix series, Bridgerton.
The afternoon involved a visit to The Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa. Set in the middle of The Royal Crescent which is a true landmark in Bath, guests can experience a very special combination of provenance, setting and service in five-star surroundings. Following this the group walked to The Roman Baths & Pump Room which dating back nearly 2000 years, offers a unique setting for a memorable event. Guests may dine in the elegant Pump Room which has been the social heart of Bath for more than two centuries and boasts amongst its previous patrons Jane Austen and Charles Dickens. The group even had the opportunity to taste the famous spring water.
It was also great to engage with Gold and Partner Members of Visit West during a partner meeting held at the hugely impressive Bristol Beacon to discuss the business events landscape and the latest industry stats. Bristol Beacon reopened in November 2023 after a five-year closure when it underwent a major refurbishment. Located in Brisotl City Centre, it can accommodate up to 1700 and is a music charity that uses music to bring joy, engage and inspire. Hiring their spaces helps deliver an artistic programme of hundreds of live performances and a programme of creative learning reaching over 30,000 young people every year.
Bristol and Bath are steeped in history and culture and boasts some of the best incentive experiences and event spaces in the Southwest of England.
