Meet Bristol & Bath attends VisitBritain Ambassador Annual Reception

Meet Bristol & Bath were one of a select number of Convention Bureaux invited to attend the VisitBritain Ambassador Annual Reception in London on 13 September.

The event recognised and celebrated the importance of the collaborative work that cities, alongside their ambassadors do to bring important business events to Great Britain and Northern Ireland. 

Panel sessions explored the great importance of ambassadors and the strong role they play in securing new international business events in Britain. We heard from passionate city ambassadors who shared their experience of working with their city Convention Bureau to bid and win global association events. We were also joined by ESAE – European Society of Association Executives, Mike Morrissey who shared his experience of working within the European association market and the strong opportunity Britain has within this sector.

We were honoured to be joined by Nick de Bois CBE and Culture Minister Sir John Whittingdale MP at VisitBritain’s first ever Ambassador Reception, recognising the hard work and commitment our British cities and ambassadors have contributed towards bringing global business events to Britain as well as celebrating the overall value, impact and importance of the sector.
