About

A dedicated centre for photography which comprises of a high-quality exhibition space, 101-seat auditorium, an education and resource centre and offices for the RPS staff.

They show four exhibitions annually of visually arresting photography selected to inspire and inform on the art and the science of the medium. Each exhibition is accompanied by an exciting education programme of talks, workshops and screenings. They are family-friendly and offer free self-serve tea and coffee to their visitors!

The RPS is situated in the Paintworks creative quarter, close to the city centre.

Opening times: The Exhibition Gallery is open Thursday – Sunday, 10am – 5pm

The RPS is an international charitable organisation founded in 1853 to educate the public on the art and the science of photography. The organisation has 12,000 members internationally all of whom care about photography deeply.
