EDIT VISIT BRISTOL TAB
Spike Island is an international centre for the development of contemporary art and design, home to a gallery, café and working space for artists, designers and creative businesses. A vibrant hub for production, presentation and debate, Spike Island offers opportunities for audiences to engage directly with creative practices through participation and discussion.
Situated on the southern end of Bristol’s historic docks in a former Brooke Bond tea packing factory, Spike Island forms a major part of an exciting hub of creative and cultural activity amongst Bristol’s Harbourside community.
Spike Island offers visitors a year-round programme of exhibitions, events and family activities in the expansive, well-lit gallery spaces, as well as providing artists’ studios and commercial workspace for both new and established designers and creative businesses.
Spike Island’s annual Open Studios attracts thousands of visitors to explore behind the scenes, as artists throw open their studio doors for you to explore their working environment, to learn what they do, why and how.
