About

Komedia is Bath’s first community owned venue dedicated solely to live entertainment.

Hosting over 400 events per year in the beautifully restored Grade II listed former Beau Nash cinema, Komedia puts on an unparalleled programme of comedy, music, cabaret, kids’ events, club nights and just about everything in between, with a focus on offering something for everyone in the local community.

The premier destination for touring entertainment in the region, Komedia has hosted some of the biggest names in the comedy and music industries since opening in 2008, and continues to pull world-class talent to the city.

The venue operates two fully flexible, well-equipped performance spaces. At the heart of it all is the Main Auditorium, which offers the ideal platform for full-scale live performances with audience sizes up to 780.

Alongside this, Komedia is also very proud to run The Electric Bar – an intimate live performance space and bar that’s ideal for much more intimate gigs, grassroots-level music and comedy showcases. Fully renovated during the Covid-19 pandemic, the space also doubles as the venue’s Box Office and bar during the day.

As you might be able to tell from the name, Komedia’s roots are in comedy, and every Saturday, they host an award-winning stand-up extravaganza: Krater Comedy Club. This is your chance to catch some of the very best UK and international stand-up live, right in the centre of Bath. Each show features three top comics and a cracking compere and – for the ultimate Saturday night out – all Krater Comedy Club tickets include free club night entry to The Big Disco after the show!

Accessibility Information

Komedia Bath is committed to be accessible to all.

There is ramped, step-free access to the entrance, ticket desk, foyer, venue bar and main seating area, including handrails in the main Auditorium. Fully accessible toilets can be found on the ground floor, towards the back of the Auditorium.

At Auditorium shows listed as 'standing,' customers are able to reserve accessible spaces and seating at the viewing area on our mezzanine. Wheelchair users are advised to book in advance in order to reserve a suitable seating area for the party.

The venue's Balcony is only accessible via a wide staircase comprised of around 20 steps, with handrails on both sides. Balcony seating is tiered, and laid out in fixed rows of theatre-style, fold-down seats.

A selection of Komedia Bath's best-selling events will feature a British Sign Language interpreter. Please check the website for the latest updates.
