About
Hidden in a basement below The Commercial Rooms on Corn Street, The Ox is a bastion of simple, top notch, British fayre. Situated in the heart of the Old City, you’ll find a menu packed with the choicest cuts of prime steak and tasty, meaty morsels. Their butcher likes to think that the steaks are the best in the city and when you’ve tasted one cooked in their charcoal oven we think you’ll agree!
'The Ox stepped into the foodie scene in Bristol in 2013 and we couldn’t be happier with the reaction we’ve had. We’ve won some great awards that we’re very proud of. We’ve been voted, by the good people of Bristol, for serving the best steak in the Bristol Good Food awards two years running, and we were voted as the 47th best restaurant in the UK in the National Restaurant Awards in 2015'.
As a cousin of cocktail bars, Hyde & Co and The Milk Thistle, you’d expect to find a fancy concoction or two and you won’t be disappointed. The cosy bar area is available for pre dinner drinks & nibbles.
